Apercu can feel demanding at the first spray. Amalfi Lemon, bergamot, neroli, and tuberose arrive with a sharp, busy brightness, while jasmine adds a lush floral edge. The opening has plenty to say before the shape settles, and sensitive noses may find its layered entrance a little crowded. After that brisk start, cinnamon and geranium bring a warmer, drier pulse. Ylang-Ylang softens the blend with a creamy floral tone, giving the middle more roundness without draining its lively character.

The base is where Houbigant’s chypre structure gains weight. Oakmoss, patchouli, vetiver, cloves, cassia, and sandalwood form an earthy, woody finish with green and warm-spicy facets.
