The lounge is dim, lit only by the warm glow of a few low lamps and the intermittent flash of a phone screen. Someone walks in wearing House of Iyrah's Symphony, and the air shifts. The opening is a heap of candied black currant and dried peach, sticky and bright, with a cold metallic edge that cuts through the sweetness. Apple and bergamot add a crisp bite, but the candied fruits keep the mood playful rather than fresh. Jasmine floats through the heart, soft and slightly powdery, while saffron lends a warm, expensive heat that feels at home in a room full of velvet and low music.
Sandalwood and vanilla ground the blend, smooth and creamy, while white musk and patchouli drift underneath with a quiet, earthy weight. The entire composition feels like a dessert meant for a late night, rich and unapologetic. The metallic accord, however, never fully settles. It sits on top of the fruit like a thin film, occasionally sharp against the soft jasmine and warm vanilla. For those who want a seamless, natural fruity scent, that synthetic shimmer is a distraction that keeps Symphony from feeling completely cohesive.
