Slay It opens with a brisk mix of chili pepper, pink pepper, red berries, grapefruit, and bergamot. The chili and pink pepper provide a sharp, tingling edge that cuts through the bright citrus and the slightly jammy red berries. This introduction feels lively and immediate, moving quickly into a heart dominated by saffron, Sichuan pepper, tobacco, frankincense, and cinnamon. The saffron adds a leathery, slightly metallic warmth, while the tobacco and frankincense create a resinous, smoky depth. Cinnamon reinforces the heat from the opening peppers, making the center of the fragrance feel dry and intensely spiced rather than sweet.
The base settles into cashmere wood, benzoin, white musk, and amber. These notes bring a smooth, balsamic sweetness that rounds out the sharper spices without fully softening them. The amber and benzoin feel resinous and warm against the clean, slightly synthetic drift of the white musk. The overall character stays firmly in the warm spicy, woody, and tobacco accords, with the fresh citrus long gone. The composition leans heavily on its resin and spice, which can feel a bit dense and repetitive as the wear continues, lacking a contrasting element to lift the heavier notes.
