Character
2020 is a fragrance built for the person who wants to smell like open air after a storm. The opening makes the case immediately with blood orange and peach brightening the green snap of violet leaf. It feels alive and sunlit, not heavy or syrupy. The fruit here is a vehicle for atmosphere rather than a gourmand treat, pushing the scent toward the ozonic and aquatic accords that define its character.
Composed by Karine Vinchon Spehner, the heart reinforces this argument through jasmine sambac, lotus, and rose. These flowers do not sit on the skin like a traditional bouquet. They float, supported by the wet, marine quality that runs through the entire composition. Sandalwood and musk in the base ground the experience just enough to keep it from drifting completely into the abstract, adding a soft, powdery finish that feels clean.
This is a scent for a walk along a boardwalk when the clouds have just broken and the wooden planks are dark with rain. The air tastes of citrus and cold water, and the breeze carries a single crushed petal past your shoulder.
