Our take

The heavy door swings shut behind you and the evening air in the small stone chapel is still. A thin ribbon of incense curls near the altar while black pepper pricks at the edge of the room. Bergamot offers a bright flash that disappears quickly into ylang-ylang and hawthorn. Styrax adds a resinous weight that makes the space feel grounded. Mimosa and honey soon arrive, thick and golden, wrapped around jasmine and rose. Violet and lilac soften the edges so the flowers never shout. Sandalwood and Virginia cedar give the heart a dry, polished floor beneath the petals. The air feels warm and slightly powdery, as if the walls themselves have been dusted with fine amber.

Bourbon vanilla joins benzoin in the corner where the candlelight lingers. Musk settles into the wood and the resin so the room feels rounded and complete. The scent is sweet without becoming sugary, floral without floating away, and spicy without biting the nose. It is a fragrance that belongs in a place where the night is long and the world outside is cold. Powder coats the air in a gentle layer that recalls old velvet curtains and polished pews. Each breath feels deliberate and calm. The mood is intimate, rich, and quietly radiant. Amber remains on the air when the service ends.
