Ambre Chinoise
Fragrance notes
Character
Ambre Chinoise wraps the skin in a thick, musky blanket. Violet and rose sit side by side, neither fighting for space. The amber here feels heavy and warm, like a thick wool coat worn indoors.
Powder rises from the skin in a soft cloud. The animalic accord gives the flowers a slightly lived-in texture. It smells like a vintage compact left open on a wooden vanity.
The composition feels entirely at home in the quiet of a cold, dim room. It pairs well with candlelight and heavy curtains drawn against the frost outside. The floral notes never turn fresh or dewy.
The musk leans a bit synthetic and can feel flat against the natural sweetness of the violet. The powdery accord becomes overwhelming and cloys the nose after a short while. It lacks the sparkle needed to lift the heavy base.
