Fantôme Noir opens with almond and plum placed over a faint trace of tea. The almond is soft rather than sharp, and the plum adds a rounded fruitiness that does not lean into candy. Tea sits in the background and keeps the entrance from feeling heavy right away. It is a calm start that moves forward without drawing attention to itself.
The heart brings heliotrope and peach together with walnut and milk. Heliotrope adds a powdery softness that blends into the peach, while walnut gives the center a dry, nutty texture. Milk smooths the edges and makes the middle feel creamy without turning sweet. The fruity and nutty elements stay close to each other here.
Vetiver, patchouli, sandalwood, and cedar form a dry, woody base that grows steadily. Patchouli adds an earthy depth that pairs with vetiver’s clean edge. Sandalwood rounds the base with a smooth wood tone, and cedar follows with a drier line. The woods take over slowly and carry the almond and heliotrope traces downward into a quiet, dusty finish that suits a cold day and a heavy coat.
The lactonic accord lingers near the wood and keeps the drydown from feeling bare. Powder from the heart remains just visible while the earthy patchouli and aromatic vetiver hold the structure in place.
