Walking through a cool morning market where vendors are setting out crates of fruit next to baskets of dried herbs, you feel the air shift. Lavender and lilac rise from the heart, soft and powdery, while cloves add a rough edge to the petals. The spices do not calm the opening chaos. They tangle with the white florals and create a thick, heavy middle that sits close to the skin.
Orris and cinnamon anchor the scene as the air turns crisp. Black amber brings a deep, animalic warmth that grounds the citrus and makes the entire walk feel enclosed and intimate. The scent matches the heavy coat you wear and the steam rising from a cup held between gloved hands. It is a full, rounded atmosphere that fits the chilled air perfectly.
The problem remains the start. That initial burst of orange and mandarin lacks grace and tries to do too much at once. It overwhelms the delicate lilac before the spices can arrive to give it structure. The fragrance recovers by the time the amber settles, but the first few minutes are a harsh, unbalanced experience.
