My Oud
Fragrance notes
Character
My Oud opens with bright bergamot and lemon that give the fragrance a clear, sunlit start. The citrus feels clean and immediate, moving quickly into a heart of raspberry, rose, and violet. Raspberry adds a tart fruitiness that keeps the rose from leaning too formal, while violet brings a soft powder that sits gently against the citrus. The composition stays woody and aromatic as the middle notes settle, with the floral side remaining present but never overwhelming the fruit. Patchouli and sandalwood form a steady base that grounds the brighter opening, and vanilla, amber, and musk wrap the woods in a warm, sweet finish. The result is a mix of woody, citrus, patchouli, powdery, warm spicy, vanilla, fruity, sweet, rose, and balsamic accords that feel cohesive rather than crowded. The scent works well in natural light, where the lemon and raspberry read as fresh rather than heavy.
The aroma feels smooth and approachable, though the synthetic edge in the musk and amber can make the drydown slightly flat compared to the vivid opening. The vanilla and raspberry combination leans sweet enough that anyone who prefers dry, austere woods may find the balance tilted too far toward sugar. The powder from violet and rose also accumulates, which can blur the clearer citrus and patchouli underneath. For a fragrance that begins with such crisp lemon, the later stages lose some definition as the sweeter accords merge. The overall impression is pleasant and easy to wear, but the blend does not offer much contrast once the base notes take hold.
