A stone courtyard sits quiet under a pale sky. Incense curls upward from a small dish, its smoky trail met by the sharp bite of pink pepper in the air. Green bell pepper cuts through next, crisp and unmistakably vegetal, while English rose begins to unfold with a soft, powdery weight. The flower does not dominate. It rests among the leaves, supported by a faint amber warmth that keeps the edges from feeling cold. Violet enters slowly, adding a gentle, dusty sweetness that blends into the white cedar extract. The cedar is dry and clean, a pale wood that grounds the greenery without darkening it. The air feels aromatic and composed, a mix of spice, flower, and stem that stays close to the skin and refuses to shout.
The composition carries a clear weakness. The green bell pepper note leans synthetic, giving the middle a plastic edge that distracts from the natural rose and violet. It breaks the illusion of the garden and reminds the wearer that this is a constructed scent. The amber accord also feels thin, more like a suggestion than a true base, so the warmth never fully settles. Parfums de Folleville offers an interesting idea here, composed by Benjamin Belizon, but the execution leaves a chemical trace that some will find difficult to ignore.
