Fragrance notes
Neelam opens with a sharp citrus spray that can feel thin and a little harsh before the rest of the composition catches up. Clary sage adds an herbal edge that leans medicinal at first, and the transition into the heart is not always smooth. The florals need a moment to settle, and the early minutes can read as disjointed rather than seamless.
The heart brings lily-of-the-valley and jasmine together with iris and rosemary. The white floral accord is clean and bright, while the iris introduces a powdery softness that takes the edge off the aromatics. Rosemary keeps the center fresh rather than sweet, so the fragrance stays light on its feet even with several florals present.
Patchouli and oud form a woody, earthy base that gains weight as the florals recede. Ambermax™ and musk add warmth and a smooth texture, but the oud here is restrained and does not dominate the drydown. The result is a fresh aromatic that gradually turns woody and powdery without becoming heavy or dark.
The citrus top notes can feel sharp and the opening lacks cohesion, which remains the weakest part of the wear. The heart and base recover the balance, yet the first impression stays uneven. Neelam rewards patience, though the initial harshness may put off those who prefer a gentle, rounded start.
