Our take

The patchouli in Chance Eau de Toilette shows up twice, first sharpened by pink pepper and pineapple, then again in the base where it turns earthy and warm. In between, lemon, jasmine, and rose keep the middle bright and a little sweet, closer to a fruit basket than a classic patchouli composition built around earth and moss. Vetiver and musk round out the drydown, giving it a soft, powdery finish instead of anything too woody or somber.

Staying power holds firm, and the sillage gets noticed within arm's reach, present without demanding much space. Spring carries the citrus and pineapple well, though the composition stretches comfortably into fall thanks to the patchouli base holding things together. Daytime is clearly where it lives, bright and citrus-forward in a way that suits mornings and afternoons more than evenings out.

It comes across as an easy, likeable scent, sweet and fruity up top with just enough earthy patchouli underneath to avoid feeling one-note. That combination, fruity and grounded at the same time, is the whole appeal here, and it asks very little of the wearer in return.
