Our take

It opens with a blast of aldehydes so sharp they feel like champagne bubbles breaking on cold glass, then softens into a creamy floral bouquet. Ylang ylang and neroli weave through the lemon and bergamot, but the real heart is iris and jasmine, dusty and moist at once, with orris root lending that unmistakable powdery grip. As it settles, a warm, animalic base emerges: civet and musk curl through sandalwood and oakmoss, while vanilla and amber keep the whole thing from tipping into soapy territory. The overall character is a silk slip left on a marble bathroom floor at dawn, still warm from the body that wore it.

This is a heavy, unabashedly synthetic masterpiece in the best sense, the aldehydes carving out space like a blade through velvet. It feels decidedly natural in its floral components but the construction is clearly from an era that prized artifice and drama. The numbers tell a honest story: longevity is respectable at 3.80, sillage a modest 3.36, meaning it stays close to the skin after a few hours. Fall and winter are its true home, especially at night given the 95.83% night preference. This is not for the faint of heart or anyone who wants to fade into the background. Skip it if you dislike powdery florals or find animalic notes intrusive. Wear it when you want to feel like the ghost of a 1920s debutante, all poise and a little bit of danger, a memory of glamour that lingers just long enough to make an impression.
