Citrus opens Coco Mademoiselle Intense fast and bright, Sicilian orange and lemon over Calabrian bergamot, before rose and jasmine take the middle somewhere warmer and sweeter, the citrus fading into the background as the florals build. The lemon fades fastest of the three citrus notes, leaving orange and bergamot to carry the opening a little longer.
Patchouli, vanilla, and labdanum crowd the base, and by the end the fruity brightness of the opening has given way to warm amber. It shows real staying power, in no rush to leave, and the sillage holds a short-range presence, felt more than announced.
Fall carries it best, when the amber base has real work to do against the cold, and the patchouli gives it enough grip to handle layering under a coat.
Fans of amber-heavy orientals who want citrus only as a spark at the start will like where this settles, though someone wanting a soft, citrus-led scent throughout should look at something lighter. The rose stays under everything else, a quiet thread holding the sweetness together. What lingers on a scarf or coat collar is warm amber and tonka, the last trace of orange long gone.
