Our take

It opens with a crystalline slap of aldehydes, all fizz and sparkle like ice cubes dropped into a glass of chilled lily of the valley water. The neroli cuts through with a bitter green edge, keeping the opening from drifting into pure soapiness. Within minutes, the white floral heart blooms: tuberose and jasmine push forward, creamy and indolic, while ylang-ylang adds a honeyed yellow warmth that softens the aldehydic snap. The rose here is a quiet backbone, not a diva. On the dry down, vanilla breathes sweet fog into the bouquet, and vetiver grounds it with a dry, almost rooty whisper. The overall character is a starched white linen tablecloth flapping in a spring breeze touched by a florist’s cooler: crisp, clean, and just a little coolly aristocratic.

This is a floral aldehyde done in Chanel’s restrained hand. It feels synthetic in the best way, like a perfectly pressed linen suit no blade of grass would dare to stain. The sillage sits close, barely three feet of polite aura, and longevity hovers around four hours before fading to a soapy skin scent. It is not a bomb, nor is it intended to be. For a day at the office, a garden lunch, or a Sunday morning with coffee and newspapers, it wears like an heirloom you actually use. Skip it if you crave vanilla caramel or heady tuberose bombast. This one is for the woman who knows the power of a crisp white shirt and wears it without apology. Spring and fall are its seasons, but it works surprisingly well on a sunny winter day.
