Our take

Calm Bliss opens with a sharp, airy citrus-lavender accord, bergamot and neroli cutting through the stillness like sunlight through a half-open window. Anne Flipo’s hand is evident here: the top notes feel clean but not sterile, a deliberate lift before the heart settles into aqueous orange blossom and a faint, watery floral haze. The dry down is where things get interesting. Cashmere wood and palo Santo introduce a soft, slightly smoky warmth, while ambergris and olibanum add a subtle animalic undertow that prevents the whole thing from floating away into blandness.

The overall character is a spa bathroom in a fancy hotel at 9 AM. The light is bright but filtered, the towels are white, and someone just stepped out of a shower. It is fresh, lightly sweet, and surprisingly natural for a mainstream aquatic floral, though the synthetic water note does feel a bit like a pool filter at times. It wears close to the skin and fades fast. With longevity around 2.85 and sillage barely above 2.4, you are basically buying a two-hour mood. That is a real weakness for the price.

This suits someone who wants a breezy, inoffensive scent for warm mornings, perhaps a brunch or a yoga class. Skip it if you need presence, if you work long days, or if you prefer something denser for evening wear. It is unisex leaning feminine, spring and summer only. A pleasant whisper, but a whisper nonetheless. Would you pay that much for a few hours of calm?
