Our take

Sunlight hits the stone walls of a quiet courtyard in Le Puy-en-Velay. You sit at a wooden table with a cup of tea while the air carries sweet orange and raspberry along with coriander and saffron. Jasmine and violet add a soft floral touch, and palmarosa brings a green, aromatic lift. The moment feels calm and personal, with citrus and fruit moving through the space alongside rose and cedar.

Mysore sandalwood and Haitian vetiver begin to shape the atmosphere with oakmoss and patchouli. Musk settles near the skin while the woody and earthy accords grow warmer. The powdery side of the fragrance becomes more present, and the spicy notes feel rounded rather than sharp. Rose and jasmine stay close to the sandalwood, and the green quality of palmarosa lingers with the moss.

The scene stays fixed in this courtyard. The scent feels rich and layered, with saffron and coriander adding detail to the woods and the patchouli. Violet and jasmine soften the earthy base, while raspberry and the two oranges remain faint in the background. Cedar and musk hold the composition together, and the aromatic accord keeps it from feeling heavy.

The blend can feel crowded when so many notes sit together at once. Raspberry and citrus do not always sit comfortably next to oakmoss and vetiver, and the result sometimes lacks a clear direction. The fruity and green facets compete with the chypre structure instead of supporting it.
