A jewelry atelier in the city keeps its windows fogged against the cold street, and inside the velvet trays catch the scent that rises from a wrist held near the glass. Very Oud opens with a bright raspberry that feels like a silk scarf tossed over dark wood, its sweetness immediate and tactile. Litchi and rose follow without waiting, the fruit juicy and the flower rounded, while a strip of leather runs through the middle like a new glove laid across a bouquet. The oud underneath is smooth and resinous rather than aggressively smoky, and vanilla sits beside it with a powdery softness that blurs the edges. Musk holds the whole room together so the air feels layered, fruity and sweet one moment, dry and floral the next, the leather giving it a clean, tailored line that never overwhelms the petals.
