Our take

Trickster opens with pink pepper, lemon and pineapple. The pepper brings a dry, faintly rosy heat that sits beside the lemon’s brisk acidity. Pineapple adds a rounded, yellow fruit softness that keeps the start from feeling sharp. The citrus is present and clear rather than candied, and the spice gives it a mild bite that prevents the fruit from dominating the first minutes.

Clary sage, geranium and lavender follow. The sage is herbal and slightly dusty, the geranium leafy and green, and the lavender calm and clean. Together they form an aromatic heart that feels more grounded than floral. The lavender smooths the edges of the sage, while the geranium adds a faint metallic brightness that bridges the citrus above and the woods below.

Patchouli, vetiver and cedar form the base. The patchouli is earthy and damp, the vetiver grassy and dry, and the cedar straight and dry. The woods feel natural rather than polished, and the patchouli gives the drydown a slightly dark, soil-like weight. The vetiver keeps it from becoming too heavy, and the cedar provides a steady, dry foundation that holds the other notes in place.

The overall impression is woody, aromatic and lightly spicy. It works well for someone who likes herbal citrus that moves into dry earth without becoming sweet. Wear it to an evening dinner or a night out where a grounded, aromatic presence fits the mood.
