Varuek opens like a splinter of charred teak forced into damp earth, all castoreum and pine tar snarling at each other before the Thailand oud slinks in, feral and honeyed. Prin Lomros has built something that breathes with a heavy, animalic warmth, where labdanum and beeswax melt into a leathery amber that clings to the skin like a second hide. The coffee and black pepper arrive not as sweetness but as grit, a sharp rub against the nose that cuts through the myrrh and olibanum’s resinous smoke. On drydown, Himalayan jatamansi and oakmoss push the composition into a dark, medicinal green that lingers without ever softening into comfort.
