Our take

Roses in the Cafe can feel crowded. The mix of Bulgarian rose, Turkish rose, May rose, black pepper, sandalwood, patchouli, saffron, incense, coffee, and amber is dense, and the richness sometimes blurs the edges of each note. The warm spicy, amber, woody, balsamic, coffee, rose, fresh spicy, patchouli, smoky, and powdery accords sit close together, leaving little room for one voice to rise clearly above the others.

The air in the small room is thick with heat and scent. A cup of dark coffee rests on a low table beside a shallow bowl of rose petals that have begun to dry near the rim. Someone has crushed black pepper over the surface, and a thin line of incense curls upward from a dish at the back of the space. Sandalwood and patchouli press into the warmth, while saffron and amber add a deep, resinous weight that makes the walls feel nearer than they are.

The door stays closed, the windows fogged, and the entire room smells like a cafe where roses were left to steep in the steam of fresh coffee and burning wood.
