Our take

A spritz of Rush of Unicorns opens with a splash of chilled melon and sea salt, the lemon zinging like sunlight on wet sand. It’s a bright, almost fizzy aquatic fruity opening that feels more like a spritzer than a perfume proper. The heart softens into a lavender and iris dusting, with black currant adding a jammy tartness that keeps things from tipping into generic beachwater. Bergamot and mandarin circle the edges, but the structure stays loose and sunny.

The dry down brings ambergris and white amber, turning the saltwater into a soft, barely animalic warmth. Sandalwood gives a faint creamy anchor, but don’t expect depth. This is a lightweight, synthetic-friendly ride. It smells like a unicorn-shaped inflatable raft bobbing in a pool full of citrus slices and fuzzy peach rings. If you crave big projection or all-day longevity (averaging just over three hours for both), you will be let down. This is a reapply situation.

Best suited for a lazy spring afternoon or a humid summer morning, worn casually with a linen shirt and sunglasses. Skip it if you need presence or complexity. For the price, it’s a cheerful, fleeting splash of sweet air, not a statement. It knows exactly what it is: a sparkler, not a bonfire.
