Our take

Resurrection opens with a sharp burst of Calabrian bergamot and Italian orange that cuts through the morning air like sunlight hitting a stone courtyard. The citrus is bright and direct, giving the early wear a clean, upright posture that feels appropriate for a commute or a meeting. Amyris and coriander step in quickly, adding a dry, peppery edge that keeps the opening from leaning sweet. Oud arrives soon after, but it is restrained here, more of a resinous shadow than a heavy cloud. The woods anchor the scent so that the presence remains steady through a full day of activity without demanding constant attention from everyone nearby.

Leather and Atlas cedar form the backbone of the drydown, supported by Indonesian patchouli leaf and sandalwood. The leather is smooth and polished, reminiscent of a well-kept jacket rather than a rugged hide, while the cedar brings a dry, pencil-shaving crispness that pairs naturally with the musk. This combination creates a woody, aromatic profile that stays close to the skin yet maintains a consistent character from the first spray until the evening. The balsamic and powdery facets add a subtle softness, preventing the composition from feeling too austere or clinical as the hours pass.

The animalic accord is the element that will divide wearers. It adds a raw, slightly barnyard edge to the oud and leather that some will find authentic and others will find off-putting. If you prefer your woody scents to stay clean and entirely refined, this facet may feel unnecessary and distracting. The coriander and patchouli do their best to integrate it, but the untamed quality remains present throughout the wear. It is a specific mood, not a crowd-pleaser, and that limits its appeal to those who want a safe, universally liked office scent.
