You open with a burst of waxy orange blossom and tart bergamot, a bright citrus that gets quickly drawn into a dense lavender heart. The lavender here isn’t fresh or airy it’s dusty, beefed up by nutmeg and coriander, with rosemary poking through like a dry herb sprig stuck in a wool coat. The base is all tonka and woody notes, turning into a sweet, vanillic amber that sticks close to the skin. The overall character is a leather armchair in a wood paneled library, recently polished with a sweet beeswax cream. It feels synthetic in the way a department store scent from 2006 often does, polished and efficient rather than natural.
