Our take

New Orleans can feel heavy before it even settles. The tuberose and violet leaf open with a thick green weight that some will find overwhelming, and the cassis adds a dark fruitiness that pushes the blend toward cloying. Vanilla tries to soften the edges, but the opening is dense and unapologetic.

Mandarin orange and bergamot cut through the richness with a bright citrus lift, though the lily-of-the-valley stays quiet beneath the louder notes. Cinnamon and amber in the base pull the scent into warm, woody territory, while patchouli and sandalwood give it a deep foundation that lingers on fabric and skin through a long day out. The scent carries clearly in the air around you without becoming aggressive.

This is not a subtle introduction to white florals. Anyone who prefers airy, sheer compositions will find the tuberose and vanilla combination too much to wear comfortably. The density that defines New Orleans is exactly what limits its appeal to those who like their fragrances light and easy.
