Sunlight falls across a stone terrace where a bowl of black currants sits beside a pot of wild celery. Eau de Mure begins there, with bergamot bright against the white petals of African orange flower. The citrus is quick, the floral note clean, and the morning air carries both across the warm stone.
The heart of the scene deepens as mastic resin meets those dark berries, its pine-like edge softened by a single clove. Celery adds a green, saline crunch that keeps the fruit from feeling heavy. Slowly, the base settles into view. Sandalwood lends a creamy smoothness to the amber, while tonka bean wraps the resin in a gentle, powdery warmth. The mastic lingers, turning the sweetness into something resinous and slightly medicinal, like sap on sun-warmed fingers.
This is a fragrance of texture and resin rather than fresh air. The celery note, however, creates a hollow, vegetal gap in the middle of the blend that never quite fills. It pulls the composition toward an herbal sharpness that can feel disjointed against the soft sandalwood beneath it. The contrast is intentional but not always comfortable, leaving a green roughness that some will find distracting.
