Our take

Want opens with a brisk slap of pink pepper and ginger, the mandarin orange adding a fleeting sweetness that gets swallowed by the pepper’s spice. Within minutes, the heart reveals itself as a plush floral accord, with heliotrope’s almond-like powderiness softening the damask rose and neroli into something creamy and slightly retro. The base is where Want finds its true voice: a double dose of Madagascar vanilla, one absolute and one more synthetic, tangled with woody notes that keep it from going full gourmand. The whole effect is like a cashmere throw tossed over a velvet armchair – comfortable, slightly decadent, but never daring.

This is an Oriental floral pitched squarely at the mainstream, polished and smooth, with a powdery sweetness that leans heavy rather than fresh. The longevity sits at a modest three and a half out of five, and the sillage is even softer, barely a whisper after two hours. That makes it a daytime companion for cooler weather – autumn and winter are where it truly belongs, and wearing it in spring is still pleasant, but summer’s heat would turn the vanilla into a cloying mess. It suits someone who wants to smell pretty, sweet, and uncomplicated, a woman who likes her scents to hug close rather than announce her arrival. Skip it if you crave projection or anything with an edge; this fragrance has no desire to interrupt conversations. It is a polite, cozy choice for a crisp afternoon coffee date, not a night out where you need to be remembered.
