Reine de Mai
Fragrance notes
Character
Reine de Mai opens with a rush of papaya, pitahaya, jackfruit and pomegranate. The fruit is bright and juicy, with the jackfruit adding a slightly savory depth that keeps the sweetness from becoming flat. These top notes stay close and fade at a measured pace, giving way to the heart without dominating the entire wear.
In the middle, guava and white peach soften the sharper edges of the opening while hibiscus and freesia bring a clean floral lift. The guava feels sun-warmed and thick, contrasting with the airy freesia. Ambrette and white musk form a gentle base that supports the fruit without turning heavy, though the musk stays near the skin and does not project outward.
The fragrance suits warm, bright days when you want something cheerful and uncomplicated. It works best for someone who enjoys tropical fruit done in a fresh, transparent style. The limitation is the base, which lacks complexity and disappears before the fruit has fully settled, leaving the final stage feeling a bit thin.
