Val d'Orcia opens with a brisk squeeze of lime and citron brightened by a round orange, while cypress threads a cool green line through the top. The citrus feels sunlit rather than sharp, and the whole opening stays close enough that only you catch the first minute or two. Magnolia and immortelle soften the edges, with basil adding a gently herbal lift that keeps the heart from leaning too floral.
Cappuccino and tonka bean give the drydown a milky, gently roasted sweetness, though the vanilla and myrrh keep it grounded rather than sugary. Amyris adds a smooth wood that lingers through the afternoon without ever expanding beyond your personal space. The blend feels like standing on a warm hillside road where wild herbs mix with morning air and a nearby cafe smells of fresh grounds.
Thierry Bernard composed a scent that stays present for a reasonable stretch but never raises its voice. The one drawback is the cappuccino note, which reads more like a sweet cream accord than real espresso and may disappoint anyone hoping for a true coffee bite.
