Fragrance notes
Merkurius opens with a sharp bite of grapefruit that cuts through the cool, resinous cardamom and rosemary immediately. The citrus is bright but it does not stay bright for long, as the aromatic herbs quickly steer the scent toward something drier and more masculine.
The heart introduces a heavy yellow floral presence that feels unexpected here. Ylang-ylang and tuberose push forward with a waxy, thick sweetness that clashes slightly with the herbal opening, creating a distinct animalic warmth.
Leather and suede dominate the base, supported by a dry cedar backbone. The accord list promises a smoky character, and that haze sits underneath the skins, giving the masculine composition a rugged, almost rugged workshop atmosphere.
The main limitation is the tuberose. It grows too loud for a masculine leather scent, making the floral heart feel out of place rather than integrated. The balance leans too far into a heavy floweriness that distracts from the promising aromatic start.
