Our take

Sweet Meadow opens with a bright, slightly tart spray of mandarin orange and bergamot. The citrus feels clean and immediate, but it does not stay sharp for long. A crisp apple note joins the opening, adding a juicy, pale sweetness that keeps the start from feeling too dry. Lavender appears early as well, lending a soft, herbal calm that bridges the fruit and the florals waiting underneath.

The heart settles into a gentle mix of jasmine and violet. These white and purple petals create a powdery, slightly soapy aura that feels nostalgic rather than modern. Geranium adds a green, stem-like edge that prevents the flowers from becoming too lush. The blend reads like a walk through a garden after rain, where the air is cool and the petals are damp.

As it moves toward the base, the woods take over without overwhelming the lighter notes. Guaiac wood and sandalwood provide a dry, creamy foundation that feels smooth against the skin. Patchouli and cardamom introduce a warm, slightly earthy spice that grounds the vanilla. That vanilla is present, but it stays in the background, acting more like a soft blanket than a sugary treat.

The main limitation here is the indolic jasmine. It can become slightly cloying and headache-inducing for those who prefer clean, sheer florals. The powdery violet also leans a bit heavy, making the overall composition feel dated rather than fresh.
