Our take

Shiloh X opens with bright grapefruit, bergamot, and tangerine that feel like stepping outside after a cool rain. The citrus is sharp and clear, not candied, and it moves quickly into a heart of cardamom, cinnamon, and bay leaf. Rose sits quietly behind the spices, softening the edges without turning the blend floral. The early impression is energetic and clean, with a green lift that keeps the spices from feeling heavy or dry.

The base pulls the fragrance toward earth and wood. Oakmoss and vetiver bring a damp, forest floor quality, while patchouli and Virginia cedar add dry grain and quiet depth. Amber and benzoin warm the foundation, but they never take over. The result is a crisp, aromatic profile that fits a walk through wet leaves or a bright morning with a chill in the air. It feels natural rather than polished, more at home in a jacket pocket than on a vanity.

Composed by Fabrice Olivieri, this is a straightforward scent that does not try to impress with complexity. The citrus and spice are pleasant, and the mossy woods are well placed, but the blend lacks a distinct personality. It follows a familiar path without offering a single moment that surprises or lingers in memory. For some, that reliability is welcome. For others, Shiloh X will simply feel too safe and unremarkable.
