Our take

You doesn't organize itself into top, heart and base the way most fragrances do, and that's part of the point: iris, pink pepper, ambroxan and ambrette are presented together, all at once, so the whole thing feels like a single soft blur more than a story that unfolds. People who want to watch a fragrance change over time will likely find it too flat for that.

What it does instead is texture. Iris gives it a cool, slightly earthy powder, pink pepper adds a faint prickle at the edges, and ambroxan and ambrette turn the base into something warm, musky and skin-like, closer to clean laundry left in the sun than to a traditional floral. It holds on skin at a pace that feels neither fleeting nor stubborn, and the sillage stays private, built to be discovered up close. Dora Baghriche and Frank Voelkl clearly designed this to sit close and feel personal, which makes it well suited to daytime wear in any season except deep summer heat, and it suits anyone who wants a scent that reads as skin more than perfume, and frustrates anyone hoping for a clear beginning, middle and end.
