Fragrance notes
Character
A jazz trio plays in a velvet-draped lounge where the air is already thick with clove cigarettes and expensive wool. The man at the corner table does not smoke, yet he seems to carry the room’s scent on his skin. Saffron and bergamot glow against the dim amber lighting, a bright, metallic spark that cuts through the heavy atmosphere. It is an immediate contrast, the clean and the dark.
As the evening deepens, the scent pulls inward. Honey and osmanthus provide a syrupy, apricot-colored richness that refuses to be light. It clings to the leather jacket draped over the chair, a sticky, golden resin that feels heavy rather than cloying. The leather note is not new; it smells of well-worn saddles and aged libraries, grounding the sticky sweetness with a dry, tannin-like grip.
The dry down settles close to the skin, a private atmosphere of Thailand oud and sandalwood. It is here the fragrance reveals its animalic teeth. The oud is humid and distinct, avoiding the barnyard but keeping a feral, sweaty edge that vanilla tries to soften. It results in a powdery, woody musk that feels ancient and expensive, a scent that does not ask for attention but demands it through sheer density.
This is for the guest who prefers the shadowed booths of a members-only club to the bright bustle of a cocktail bar. Wear it when the night is cold and the agenda is intimate, or when the goal is to leave a lingering, mysterious impression on a heavy coat collar.
