That crisp, masculine cleanliness is quickly undercut by leather, a stiff and slightly animalic hide that snags on a fluffy lavender note, all dusted with vanilla's soft powder. This is not a gentle rose; the rose here emerges from the base, soiled with patchouli and earthy vetiver, a bloom that has crawled through wet earth and leather scrap. Jasmine and mandarin round out the edges with a faint, almost sour sweetness.
The overall character is that of a vintage leather armchair in a conservatory full of overgrown climbing roses, the leather cracked and worn, the petals bruised.
