Solemnis
Fragrance notes
Character
Solemnis opens with a bright, slightly bitter kaffir lime that feels sharp and clean. Frankincense enters immediately alongside it, adding a dry, resinous edge that keeps the citrus from leaning sweet. The combination is crisp and slightly medicinal, presenting a clear and upright introduction.
The heart introduces pepper and rose. The pepper is vivid and adds a biting, fresh spicy quality that cuts through the floral softness of the rose. This rose is not lush or dewy, but rather dry and slightly dusty, blending seamlessly with the frankincense that lingers from the opening. The aromatic and warm spicy accords become more noticeable here, creating a textured middle that feels suitable for a bright, sunlit room.
Vetiver and tonka bean form the foundation, supported by the heavy, amber-like presence of labdanum. The vetiver brings an earthy, woody dryness, while the tonka bean and labdanum contribute a smooth vanilla and amber warmth. The fragrance settles into a balance of citrus, woody, and amber notes that remain consistent. The overall impression is a mix of aromatic, earthy, and fresh spicy elements.
