Maroon opens with vanilla that feels thick and resinous. It does not sparkle or lift the composition. Instead, the vanilla sits close to the skin with a heavy, rounded sweetness that immediately signals a dark, indoor atmosphere. This is a scent built for low lighting and quiet rooms where the air feels warm.
Patchouli enters soon after and pulls the vanilla toward the earth. The green, damp character of the patchouli cuts through the sugar, giving the blend a textured, soil-like depth. It prevents the opening from becoming a flat gourmand by adding a slightly bitter, woody edge that feels grounded and mature.
Oud forms the foundation beneath both. The agarwood carries a dry, medicinal sharpness that blends with the balsamic warmth of the vanilla and the dirt of the patchouli.
