Our take

Red willow and poplar buds give Bois Fou a resinous, slightly sticky wood that feels alive rather than polished. Pomegranate and apple tree add a fleshy fruit tone that leans juicy rather than candied. Oak sits beside sand to create a dry, grounding texture that keeps the sweeter facets from floating away. The floral accord is quiet here, more of a soft haze than a clear bouquet.

The overall impression is woody and sweet, but the sand note pulls it toward something arid and open. It feels composed rather than crowd-pleasing, with a slightly raw edge that suggests a niche approach. Vincent Micotti built a fragrance that stays close to its materials instead of smoothing them into a familiar shape. The fruit never becomes a dessert, and the wood never turns into furniture polish.

Picture a narrow path through bare trees where the ground is covered in coarse sand and a fallen piece of fruit rests against an old trunk. The air is cool and still, and the resin on the branches catches the faint light.
