Our take

Galice Gold feels too sweet for daily wear. The vanilla and raspberry combine into a heavy syrup that can overwhelm the senses before the day even begins. It lacks the crispness that keeps a fruity fragrance from feeling sticky on the skin.

Bergamot tries to lift the opening, but the black currant pulls everything back into a dense, jammy darkness. Jasmine and orange blossom arrive with a soapy, powdery dryness that clashes slightly with the wet fruit. Lily-of-the-valley adds a faint green whisper that gets lost in the noise.

Patchouli and musk form a woody foundation that feels synthetic rather than earthy. The white floral accord dominates the heart, creating a bouquet that smells more like a candle than a fresh garden. It is a composition that demands attention but offers little subtlety in return.

The air in a heated room carries the scent of candied berries spilled over a vanity cluttered with gold-toned compacts and dusted with loose powder.
