Our take

Pink pepper and Italian mandarin open Uomo Signature with a bright, slightly spicy citrus snap, grapefruit adding extra sharpness before the sweetness of cinnamon creeps in early. It holds up well over the long run, sturdy rather than fleeting, and its trail stays modest but noticeable, enough that people nearby will pick up the coffee and leather later on.

Cinnamon and cardamom bring a warm, baked spice to the heart, tempered by cypress, which adds a cool, slightly bitter green note underneath and smooths the shift from the citrus opening into the coffee base.

The base is where it gets serious: roasted coffee beans and leather dominate, dark and slightly bitter, with patchouli adding an earthy density and tonka rounding the edges with a soft, warm sweetness, closer to a tannery at work than anything sweet.

There is nothing shy about this composition, and the coffee and leather combination leans toward evening wear more than a bright morning. Patchouli lovers and fans of dark, roasted gourmands will find plenty to like, though the density means it will not suit someone chasing something lighter or more transparent.
