The forest path is cool underfoot, lined with damp earth and tall trees. A bright flash of citrus hits first, orange and mandarin mixing with sharp lemon and bergamot. Petitgrain adds a bitter edge to the orange blossom, while fern curls along the ground. Mint leaves brush against lavender stalks, and ylang-ylang hangs heavy near a patch of coriander. Vanilla sits quietly beside carnation, while vetiver pushes through the soil. The air feels alive with these green and spicy threads, each one distinct yet part of the same walk through the woods.
As the moment settles, sandalwood begins to warm the air, smooth and steady. Oakmoss clings to the bark nearby, earthy and deep, while balsam fir and Canadian fir release a resinous scent that feels like sap on skin.
