Saffron & Orange Blossom opens with a sharp metallic edge that cuts through the bright, soapy lift of orange blossom. The saffron here is dry and medicinal rather than cozy, giving the floral opening a clinical feel. Jasmine enters and adds a creamy weight, but the mix stays more aromatic than sweet.
Balsam fir and cedar anchor the bottom with a resinous, almost leathery woodiness. The amber accord from the ambergris brings a warm, animalic hum that clings to fabric and skin. It smells like standing inside a heated wood-paneled room where the air is thick with dry spice and polished timber.
The metallic facet never fully disappears, and it can feel harsh against the softer florals. For those who prefer a seamless, rounded blend, this one stays a bit jagged and unresolved. The cedar eventually dominates so heavily that the delicate orange blossom is completely lost, leaving a dry, pencil-shaving finish that lacks the promised floral balance.
