Ora dopo Ora is built on a base of oud and myrrh that feels dry rather than sweet. Cypress runs through the blend and keeps the resin from turning heavy. Rose appears in the upper registers and pulls the smoke toward a cleaner, greyer air. The materials stay close to the skin and do not project a loud silhouette. What comes across is a muted woodiness that reads more like bark and sap than polished timber. The overall impression is austere and slightly medicinal in the opening, then settles into something quieter and more contemplative. There is a distinct lack of sugar or tropical warmth.
