Our take

Halo by Vecny is a jasmine fragrance first, with lime and benzoin doing the heavy lifting around it. The white floral heart is thick and waxy, not a light spring bouquet, and the lime does not make it fresh so much as it cuts the wax with a sharp edge. Barley adds a faint cereal warmth that keeps the flower from feeling like a standard department store spray, while the benzoin and palisander rosewood press the whole thing into a balsamic, woody base that feels expensive and a little heavy. This is not a bright citrus with a floral finish. The vanilla and amber accords sit close to the skin in character, giving the scent a sweet, warm weight that suits cooler weather and evening plans better than a hot afternoon.

It suits someone who likes white florals but wants the sugar dialed back in favor of resin and wood. If you usually find jasmine cloying or you prefer scents that smell like clean laundry and bright citrus, this will feel too dense and too warm. The lime is there, but it is a bitter accent rather than a sparkling opening, and the locust note adds an unusual green bitterness that not everyone will enjoy. It is a winter coat draped over a velvet chair in a room filled with flowers.
