Just Cavalli runs on three notes: neroli, tiare flower and rosewood. Nathalie Lorson and Fabrice Pellegrin kept the formula spare, and it shows in how clearly each note comes through as the fragrance wears. Neroli opens it bright and a little bitter, and it lingers longer than most citrus tops, still faintly present even once the tiare flower has taken over. Tiare flower brings the whole thing into full white-floral territory at the heart, sweet and tropical without turning cloying, and rosewood underneath adds a soft, woody amber base that gives the florals something to settle onto. The amber accord warms the rosewood just enough to give the drydown some real body.
Sillage stays at a modest bubble, noticed clearly by whoever's sitting right next to you. Longevity holds for a decent interval too, easy to live with though never the fragrance's headline feature. The whole thing is built around one clear idea, a Tahitian white floral with a warm wood underneath, executed simply, without much extra complexity layered on for its own sake, and worn well it comes across as effortless rather than underdeveloped.
