Our take

Mure Et Musc Extrait de Parfum opens with a bright, green snap of basil and bergamot that feels like walking through a garden after rain. The kumquat and red currant add a tart, juicy edge that keeps the entrance lively and sharp. Pepper lands lightly on the skin, giving the fruit a gentle bite without turning hot. Blackberry soon takes the lead, soft and slightly syrupy, while iris smooths the edges into a powdery haze. Rose sits quietly in the background, lending a floral lift that never dominates. The musk in the base is clean and skin-like, and the patchouli brings an earthy depth that grounds the sweetness. Oakmoss adds a damp, forest-floor quality that pairs well with the leather, which feels more like a worn glove than a heavy jacket.

The scent stays close enough that only someone near you will catch the blackberry and musk drifting from your wrist. It holds its shape through a morning at a sunny café, the citrus and herbs feeling right at home in that light. Bertrand Duchaufour composed a fragrance that feels natural and unforced, never leaning into synthetic candy. The leather and oakmoss give it a serious, slightly rugged character that sets it apart from typical fruity florals. It suits a relaxed, casual day when you want something flavorful but not loud. The one drawback is the powdery iris, which can occasionally make the blend feel a bit flat and dusty.
