Rais smells like standing on a stone balcony while the wind brings in salt and cold air. The citron is sharp and bright, but it does not float alone. Seaweed wraps around it with a damp, mineral weight that pulls the citrus down from the sky and places it near the water. This is not a clean, soapy ocean scent. It feels raw and a bit dark, with a green edge that bites at the nose.
Gurjan balsam gives the blend a resinous, almost sticky wood that sits under the marine notes. It keeps the fragrance from feeling thin, yet the overall impression stays brisk rather than warm. The composition leans masculine and leans hard into that coastal chill. You can picture a gray sky and a heavy coat, the kind of air that makes you pull your collar up. It is aromatic and spicy in a way that feels natural, not polished for a department store shelf.
The problem here is the seaweed. It is a bold choice, but it dominates the blend to a point that feels unbalanced. The citron and the balsam try to hold their ground, but the marine note pushes them aside and refuses to let the other textures breathe. If you do not enjoy that specific salty, almost metallic dampness, the scent becomes difficult to wear. It is a very specific profile that will not suit a daily rotation, and it lacks the softness many expect from a fresh fragrance.
