Our take

Signorina Libera opens with a bright, almost candied pear and bergamot that fizzes like a glass of pink lemonade left in the sun, with elemi adding a sticky-resinous lift. The heart quickly folds in a jammy plum and a very polite rose, the orris dusting everything with a fine, powdery haze. On the drydown, sugar and ambroxan meet cashmeran to create a soft, sweet-and-salty skin-musk that whispers rather than shouts.

This is a fragrance that wears like a single blown sugar petal – pretty and brittle, gone in a few hours. The longevity barely breaks three hours, and sillage is a close, intimate haze, which makes sense given the 2.22 rating. It is decidedly mainstream, synthetic in a clean, pleasant way, and overwhelmingly sweet-fruity with a powdery backbone. Perfect for a breezy spring afternoon or a casual summer brunch, it is strictly a day scent. It suits someone who wants an easy, happy-go-lucky spritz without demanding attention, but skip it if you need depth or lasting power. Jerome Epinette delivered a charming cloud, not a storm.
