Kupaloke opens with a sharp, bitter edge that some will find abrasive. The bergamot here is not bright or welcoming. It cuts through the air with a harsh, medicinal quality that can feel unpolished. This initial roughness is the first thing you notice, and it sets a challenging tone for what follows.
The heart brings tuberose and lavender into the mix. The tuberose is heavy and animalic, pushing the white floral accord into a dense, earthy space. Lavender tries to add a cool, herbal touch, but it struggles against the thick floral weight. As the fragrance moves to the base, the cypriol adds a deep, woody dryness. The vodka and cognac notes provide a stark, alcoholic bite that feels raw rather than refined.
This combination creates a disjointed experience. The promise of a smooth spirit accord never fully arrives because the vodka smells too aggressive. The earthy and animalic facets dominate, leaving little room for softness. That initial harsh bergamot remains a lingering presence throughout the wear. It is a difficult composition that demands tolerance for sharp, clashing textures.
