Our take

Bergamot and mango arrive together, the citrus sharp and the fruit dense. Geranium adds a leafy edge that keeps the opening from leaning fully into sugar. Cognac sits in the middle, warm and slightly boozy, wrapped around nutmeg that prickles without bite. Cypriol brings a dry, mineral feel that pulls the heart away from anything edible. Cedar appears twice in the structure, once in the middle and once at the base, a steady wood that never dominates.

Patchouli and vetiver ground the drydown with an earthy, slightly bitter profile. Ambergris lends a rounded, saline warmth that sits under the oud rather than above it. Moss cools the resinous woods, stopping the base from feeling heavy or flat. The tropical opening and the dark, mossy woods occupy different spaces, and the transition between them can feel abrupt rather than blended.

Red Caramel moves through distinct stages that do not always agree with one another. The shift from bright mango to mineral cypriol and then to oud is dramatic, and the composition rarely smooths the edges between them. Spice and amber build a cozy frame, but the overall arc lacks a clear through-line. The disjointed progression makes it a difficult wear for anyone who prefers a seamless, evolving scent.
